trigons_child: (Trying not to cry)
Raven teleported with Trigon to a far away world. He'd manifested himself as almost human-sized (but taller than Anakin, because he was petty like that), standing beside her on a floating platform that overlooked the shattered world below. Stone buildings lay in ruins, and demons flew in the skies above. There were people below, looking up in fear. "God save us!" she heard one man cry. "Trigon has returned!"

Someone chose...poorly. )

[OOC: Preplayed with...me. Warnings for really awful dialogue, ripping off lines from Star Wars, and Trigon saying "comely wench." NFI and NFB, but OOC always welcomed!

The spamming will end soon, promise.]

Raven wasn't strong enough to take everyone far, but Azarath was close enough to reach safely. They found themselves between dark blue-green skies where stars and planets hung impossibly close. There were buildings around them of marble and gold, and people milling about in robes of grey and blue.

Raven knew Dinah would recognize where they were, but for the rest, she said quietly, "This is Azarath. Welcome to my home."

You will never find a more wretched hive of....peace and passivity. )

And then Trigon reappeared. )

And then Raven decided to be an idiot. )

trigons_child: (Soul-Self flying)
Raven's Soul-Self returned to the Netherverse and reappeared near where the battle against the demon Goronn still raged, depositing those she had brought back with her from Fandom. It then returned to Raven's side, merging once again with her body as the fight continued.

Ice, ice, baby. )

Then a voice rolled like thunder across the skies. )

trigons_child: (Looking to the side)
The trip to the spa had helped Raven relax a little, but she was still upset about the attack, her memories being tampered with, falsely accusing Max, and finding out it was her father and Sebastian responsible (or so they thought). Apologizing to Max hadn't made her feel as better as she had hoped, and she was still fretting over what her father and would-be husband had planned.

Andy had been away all weekend, so she'd left him a message asking him to come see her when he returned. She wanted to tell him what had happened, and to warn him about Sebastian, just in case he made another attack.

[For the boy, but open before his arrival.]

trigons_child: (Black and white serious)
Raven was in her room, trying to ignore the cold by meditating. Instead of sending her Soul-Self outward, she turned her mind inward, roaming the spaces between dimensions, a vast cosmos dotted with floating stones and golden stairs1.

A voice called out to her. "Daughter of Trigon!"

Raven froze, looking around herself, trying to find the source of the voice. It didn't sound like her father, but it could easily be one of his demonic minions, seeking her out.

"Do not be afraid, child." A man appeared before her, white-bearded and wearing silver armor and a dark cloak. "My name is Alligorr."

"What do you want?" Raven said, poised to flee if he attacked. She didn't recognize the man as being from Azarath, and outside of people from there and Fandom, only those who served her father knew of her parentage.

"I am part of a group that has opposed your father for decades," Alligorr said. "My fellow sorcerers and I have preceded Trigon to a hundred different planets and a hundred times we have failed to stop him. And now he has turned his eyes again toward your mother's home."

"Earth?" Raven said. "Or Azarath?" Either would be just as bad.

"Earth," Alligorr confirmed. "We must not permit Trigon to ravage another dimension. But we need your help to succeed."

He seemed sincere, but Raven still wasn't sure this wasn't some sort of trap. "What do you require from me?" she asked.

"You are the only one of your father's children to survive to adulthood," Alligorr said. "You are a link to Trigon, a link we have lacked in our previous rituals. We believe that we can use you to stop him. You must take part in our ceremony and help us focus our power."

"If it will stop my father, I will do so," Raven said. "When?"

"Soon," Alligorr said. "We will send word to you when it is time. Be strong, Daughter of Trigon. This time we will not fail."

Alligorr disappeared, and Raven opened her eyes to find herself back in her room in Fandom. She still wasn't certain she could trust Alligorr and what he had told her, but if he was right that her father was seeking to enter Earth's dimension, she had to do all she could to prevent that, or all her worst nightmares would come true.

[ooc: mostly just establishly, but if someone wants to come by to talk to Raven, feel free.]

trigons_child: (Sleeping)
In the small alcove she called home for now, Raven tossed and turned in her sleep, caught in another nightmare.

She fled from her father, scrambling to scale the rocks around her. Risking a glance over her shoulder, she saw Trigon, red-skinned and terrible, over a hundred feet tall, standing laughing among the lightning-drenched cosmos. He raised his staff, bringing it down upon the rocky bridge where Raven crouched, shattering the stone so that she began to fall.

"Trigon, why are you doing this to me? Why are you trying to kill your daughter?" Raven pleaded as she plummeted through the skies. "Don't you understand, I am part of you! And you are a part of me that I have spent a lifetime trying to submerge. Speak to me, Trigon! Why do you want to kill your only living child?"

Something broke her fall -- a giant hand. It belonged to her human mother, Arella, who somehow was as large as Trigon now. "My daughter, you will not die. I will not permit it," she said soothingly.

"Mother?!" Raven cried, scrambling to rise to her knees upon her mother's palm, reaching up to her. "Thank Azar! He wants me dead!"

"No, my loving Raven, not dead," Arella said. "He simply wants that part of your soul that is rightfully his. And I fear, my child, that not one of us can stop him." She began to laugh, though it sounded much like Trigon's laugh, as the flesh of her face began to melt away, turning her head into a grinning skull.

"No! No! Mother, not you!" Raven said as the monstrous vision of her mother turned her hand and dropped Raven through the air once again. She managed to catch hold of a rocky ledge, stopping her fall for now. Her father drew closer. "There is no way to resist him, and yet, how can I let him claim my soul?" she said. "Once Trigon possesses me, his power will be infinite! He will be complete again -- whole again! No! I must fight him with ever fibre of my being!"

Her Soul-Self, in the form of a giant shadowy raven, rose from her body and flew toward Trigon. "Let my Soul-Self fly free and let his own power be his undoing!" Raven vowed, willing it to envelop his father. "I resist you, Father, and even more, I will defeat you!"

Trigon's laughter continued to echo across the skies, even as Raven's Soul-Self began to shudder and change. It glowed red and gold, taking on the shape of her father, then shattered into thousands of pieces.

Raven screamed in agony and fear. "No! Azar, no!"
She bolted upright on her bed, still screaming.
