So I've been planning this plotline since I started Raven almost two years ago, and it's not because I have some sort of thing for emo half-demons who go evil and die. WHERE DID YOU POSSIBLY GET THAT IDEA? *shifty eyes* (And no, I'm not tempted AT ALL to app Illyana Rasputin. Really!!!) Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone who helped me pull this off: furnaceface/not_a_parakeet (who literally made me gasp out loud at one point due to a certain ping, and now keeps making me CRY, dammit), glacial_witch, sith_happened (who totally still owes me a soul-crushing nightmare once internet connections are reestablished, WOE), brat_intraining, justwantsquiet, longislandiceme, icecoldfrost, blondecanary, and furious_maximus, and especially life_inshadow, who rolled with it wonderfully when I asked her if she wanted to play Lilith's role from canon and get possessed by a goddess and have horrible dialogue forced upon her. :) I swear, never will you find a more gleeful group of people when you tell them "All right, I want you to write a nightmare with your character's darkest fears and make them go evil." They scare me. A LOT. ♥ ♥ ♥

Raven's not gone for good, of course -- comic books have a revolving door of life and death, after all, and Raven in particular has been a victim of this many many times (*shakes tiny fist at DC*). She'll be back (SPOILER!) in a few weeks, though I have to do more horrible things to her first. Because I am a cruel cruel mun.

(Raven does apologize for the wave of emo she's unleashed on the island, and wishes she was there to say YOUR PAIN, GIVE IT TO ME, except she's responsible for it and OH THE WOE. Ahem.)

Raven's headed for some vicious abuse at the hands of canon. I KNOW. QUELLE SURPRISE, NIC. Her daddy's been sacrificing billions of souls in her name to get the power to reach out of the dimension he's been trapped in so he can take control of his disobedient daughter and use her to take over the world. Or destroy it. Depends on if he's had his coffee that morning, I guess. He's cranky if he hasn't had his morning latte. Or if the dry cleaners used too much starch in his loincloth.

The bulk of this is taking place off island in mid-January, but until then, Raven's going to be changing as her father cranks up her demony side. She may say and do things that seem wildly out of character for her, and feel free to call her on it if you're someone who would. But most importantly and the main reason for this post: if she gets bitchy or mean at you, it's nothing personal. It's all IC. :)

This is what happens when I start reading back issues and recent canon and am bored and in need of distraction.

Because I'm bored and unable to focus on work due to be wacked out on drugs and still in pain, just not caring as much...and because I need to share the pain....

So while Raven's canon is primarily from the 80s run of The New Teen Titans, I've been checking out current canon to see if there are any events or retcons I want to adapt. This has largely proven to be a mistake. Because. Um. Things like this.

Just for background, the Titans have realized that Raven's daddy, Trigon, is Not Quite Dead and Up To Something, so Raven meditates and tries to track him down.

( Therein lies the WTF. )

Apparently Raven's been watching The Fifth Element while chatting with the First Slayer. Actually, what makes this all the more WTF is the fact that her father is the one making her look that way. Ewww.

And then a few pages later, Roy Harper shoots her with an arrow bomb because bad mojo was preventing anyone from touching her to wake her from her trance. And she bitches him out about why not just use a bucket of cold water. Hee.

"This is all Phoebe's fault," Piper groaned, looking around the kitchen with a resigned look on her face.
