In the small alcove she called home for now, Raven tossed and turned in her sleep, caught in another nightmare.

She fled from her father, scrambling to scale the rocks around her. Risking a glance over her shoulder, she saw Trigon, red-skinned and terrible, over a hundred feet tall, standing laughing among the lightning-drenched cosmos. He raised his staff, bringing it down upon the rocky bridge where Raven crouched, shattering the stone so that she began to fall.

"Trigon, why are you doing this to me? Why are you trying to kill your daughter?" Raven pleaded as she plummeted through the skies. "Don't you understand, I am part of you! And you are a part of me that I have spent a lifetime trying to submerge. Speak to me, Trigon! Why do you want to kill your only living child?"

Something broke her fall -- a giant hand. It belonged to her human mother, Arella, who somehow was as large as Trigon now. "My daughter, you will not die. I will not permit it," she said soothingly.

"Mother?!" Raven cried, scrambling to rise to her knees upon her mother's palm, reaching up to her. "Thank Azar! He wants me dead!"

"No, my loving Raven, not dead," Arella said. "He simply wants that part of your soul that is rightfully his. And I fear, my child, that not one of us can stop him." She began to laugh, though it sounded much like Trigon's laugh, as the flesh of her face began to melt away, turning her head into a grinning skull.

"No! No! Mother, not you!" Raven said as the monstrous vision of her mother turned her hand and dropped Raven through the air once again. She managed to catch hold of a rocky ledge, stopping her fall for now. Her father drew closer. "There is no way to resist him, and yet, how can I let him claim my soul?" she said. "Once Trigon possesses me, his power will be infinite! He will be complete again -- whole again! No! I must fight him with ever fibre of my being!"

Her Soul-Self, in the form of a giant shadowy raven, rose from her body and flew toward Trigon. "Let my Soul-Self fly free and let his own power be his undoing!" Raven vowed, willing it to envelop his father. "I resist you, Father, and even more, I will defeat you!"

Trigon's laughter continued to echo across the skies, even as Raven's Soul-Self began to shudder and change. It glowed red and gold, taking on the shape of her father, then shattered into thousands of pieces.

Raven screamed in agony and fear. "No! Azar, no!"
She bolted upright on her bed, still screaming.

[OOC: Ripped straight from canon, complete with bonus comic scans! Because I'm a dork like that. Posted early so I don't space on it in the morning; open to cabinmates or anyone who might be passing by and is so inclined to charge in upon hearing the screams. Aaaaaand since she's liable to be projecting a bit, anyone nearby who's psi-sensitive or telepathic who wants to get a head full of of random pain/fear, feel free. If you want to feel something more specific, drop me an email. This OOC note is getting as long as the dream itself. It started out as Hogwarts now it's Lord of the Flies.]

Joan stumbled over to Rachel's alcove, rubbing her eyes. "Rachel? What's wrong?"

"Don't apologize," Joan said, moving further into Rachel's alcove. "Did you have a bad dream?"

Joan frowned and sat down next to her. "Has anything happened lately that might have caused that?"

"What class is stressful?" Joan asked.

"Ah."

No, she did not need to explain why.

"Did something happen in there that got you thinking about your father?"

Joan nodded. "Maybe you should try not to dwell on it so much? Relax and try to enjoy being a teenager?"

"You had fun when we went out the other night, right?" Joan asked. "And didn't stress out about things. And nothing bad happened."

"I promise that I won't let you get out of control," Joan said.

"Which I can understand. But I bet it's so ingrained now that you could let your guard down a little and instinctively remain in control," Joan suggested.

Joan nodded. "I promise I will."

And she figured she might have some divine help with that.

Later that morning, Karla stumbled and nearly fell as she passed by Bitterwoman Cabin. The wood of the cabin practically pulsed with fear--a deep, bone-chilling terror that came when one was frightened for more than just one's own life. The images had faded from the wood, so there was nothing for Karla to draw out beyond emotions and an odd psychic scent she'd never felt before.

Nothing around the camp seemed disturbed, so there probably hadn't been an attack. Still, Karla was suddenly freezing. She'd be back, later, with some of her herbal scrub water.

[Okay if Karla approaches Rachel at Reserves?]
