Camp of the True Queen, Glacia, Saturday Evening (Fandom Time)

After doing her rounds of the camp to see if anyone needed any healing or help she could offer, Raven retired to her tent. It was a little lonely now, since she'd shared it with Dinah and Momoko before they'd left to take care of tasks elsewhere, but she was used to solitude.

She settled in with the book she was reading, the second in something called "The Raven Cycle." How could she resist a title like that?

"You're late!" Dinah said, then hugged her hard. "Why are you late? Portalocity or something else?"

"I was still on that mission with old!you! Well, I was on Friday. It kind of went horribly wrong."

"What happened?" Dinah demanded, pulling back and looking Momoko over. "Did Old Me forget to duck? Did you forget to duck? Did you guys get arrested? Was there bail?"

Momoko rolled her eyes fondly and succumbed to the examination. "Old!you refused to bail!" Ha! "And I had to dump her out of the helicopter! And then I got stuck and didn't fully escape the explosion."

"Didn't fully-- stuck?" Dinah stared at her, then poked at her side, eyes huge. "You got hurt! Of course other me refused to bail without you! And oh my god, how hurt are we talking?"

"I had to get it as far from the bad guys as possible!" Momoko flailed at her BFF. "It had a missile launcher, Gatling cannons, and energy weapons! And that was just the stuff that was supposed to be on it. Who knows what those crazy Intergang scientists added to the original plans when they stole it. Well, besides apparently a self-destruct."

She eyerolled. "When the explosions started, I headed for some cities instead of the desert in case we needed help. And then I had to make sure I found a spot to explode it where people wouldn't actually get hurt! And, well. You know how Professor Mode kept going on about capes? My jacket did that; totally caught on something."

Please don't notice her skipping over the 'how hurt she got' part...

"Aaaaaagh," Dinah reacted, shuddering. "You need to tape or belt that sucker down, or something-- okay, so, I'm not following all that, but did you get the bad guys? And, did you or other me get hurt? Don't think I don't see your conversation dodging there, Momo."

"The point wasn't to get the bad guys. It's a whole huge underground network or something, apparently? Oracle had rumours of a new weapon and Black Canary and I were to go in and find out if it was true, secure any evidence, do as much damage as we could get away with, and get out."

Momoko's eyes gleamed. "You should have seen it, Dinah. It was so awesome! A fully operational Vymyckach! I didn't think Takara manufacturing was anywhere near complete with even the plans, but there it was! A full 33 feet 5 inches tall and 2.9 tons of totally cool, gleaming beauty. And I got to pilot it!"

Her face fell. "And the idiots had to go and blow it up. And I lost all my models in the crash. I think Canary got the plans to Oracle, so maybe I can get some more." She'd better; that had been an awesome mecha. "Uhm. Canary had some injuries, but totally minor cause I made her jump. I, uhm. I got caught in the blast, so I had a leeeeeeeeettle more damage."

"How much more little more?" Dinah demanded. "I'm sorry about the models, but seriously, how much more?"

"I was kind of in critical condition at the STAR Labs medical facility for over 8 hours, Jaime says..." Momoko winced and ducked from what she was sure was coming.

If you thought a squishy hug with rib-breaking possibilities was coming, you thought right.

"Critical condition?! Eight hours? YOU? Oh. My. God." SQUISH! "You're okay now? You better be okay now!"

Hey! Raven just finished healing those!

"I'm fine! Really! I heal fast, remember?" She returned the hug, grateful there was no lecture. "And then Jaime let me come here and Raven did the rest! I'm not even drugged up anymore!"

"Don't tell Karla, okay?"

"I'm glad you're okay now, but dude! You have to be more careful!" Dinah sighed and let go of Momoko, looking at her again. "Jaime? How come he wasn't watching your back?"

Yeah, no promises about Karla. Heh.

"He wasn't on the mission. When I aimed for the cities, I picked ones near El Paso, but he says he got there just in time to see the final explosion happen."

"And it wasn't my fault! I did everything right! The destruct feature wasn't on the plans and they never let 'Miss Hanada' see inside!"

Dinah sighed, assuming that was her identity when Momoko was undercover. "Jaime was there for the explosion, though? That must've freaked him the heck out."

Momoko blushed. "Apparently he thought I was dead. I remember bits and flashes but really nothing between trying to escape the helicopter and then waking up in the hospital. He was really upset then. And he didn't want me to leave as soon as I did."

She frowned and pinched her lip. "I think I remember something about his mask, but I don't know what?"

"Oh he didn't?" Dinah perked up a little. "Whyyy? Were you still hurt?" Or did he have some other reason, hmmm?

"Mask? The BB mask? What, did Khaji Da get hurt?"

Momoko shrugged. "Something about the mask but I just can't pin it down. Probably the concussion or something. I'm sure he would have said something if it was important."

"And I was totally still hurt! He made me promise to go straight to Raven for healing." She eyerolled. "He almost came along to make sure I did. And I'm supposed to call as soon as I get back to El Paso."

"Good," Dinah said decisively. "Did you give him a call that you got here okay?" Hey, she could nudge as much as she wanted there. "You guys are getting along okay with the crimefighting, hunh."

Moar eyerolling (and blushing) "I didn't have to. He made me call and get the portal right there and made sure to check that it was straight here. No layovers. I used up all my frequent portal points."

"We talked about it. I'd forgotten to tell him about Oracle so he found out the hard way. And he was so upset that I thought he was going to ask me to leave."

Dinah's smile widened, and she bounced on her toes. "But he didn't, or you'd have said that, sooooo..." Spill, kohii! Spill!

She shook her head. "No. He said it was better that I was there,than to have to hear about it over the phone. But it was scary there, for a while. He was so serious and so worried and then he said he had something to te--"

Massive facepalming and blushing going on. "Can we talk more about how I was seriously injured?"

"But you're all better," Dinah chirped. "And I didn't even mention the blushing until now, and you've been doing it for at least ten minutes." Bounce bounce bounce! Wait, pout. "Are you keeping something from me, Momoko?"
