Camp of the True Queen, Glacia, Saturday Evening (Fandom Time)

After doing her rounds of the camp to see if anyone needed any healing or help she could offer, Raven retired to her tent. It was a little lonely now, since she'd shared it with Dinah and Momoko before they'd left to take care of tasks elsewhere, but she was used to solitude.

She settled in with the book she was reading, the second in something called "The Raven Cycle." How could she resist a title like that?

"Well, and also because we never really did that before. And I want to." She shrugged, embarrassed. "It feels like I'm testing him, though."

"What do you mean?" Dinah pulled back a little again, then frowned. "You guys didn't, I dunno, go to dances? Or do you mean anything else?"

"We went to school dances," she agreed, shrugging again. "But our dates were all just hanging out in the dorm. We went out twice... three times if you count the day we broke up."

"I want to go to a movie together. Eat somewhere. Go shopping, maybe? But it's not a test of his feelings, and I totally like just hanging out with him..." argh.

"You want to do something different with him," Dinah said. "Something that's new. Get to know him in a new way, a boyfriendy-way. Is that kinda it?"

"That's good! Yes!" Momoko poked Dinah's shoulder. "I mean, we would kiss a lot, so it wasn't like we weren't dating, but yes! That!"

"Is that weird?"

Dinah considered it. And did not say anything about her dating experience with Jaime, after she'd accepted they weren't going to be doing more than make out. No.

"Nahhh. Why would it be weird? I mean, usually you date someone to get to know them, but. It can be just to have fun together too. Staying in and watching movies is nice, sometimes. But you like seeing new things-- why not do that with Jaime?"

Momoko's nods were emphatic. "And? I totally want to show him off."

"But I don't want him to think I don't trust him."

Dinah restrained the urge to laugh. "Pfft, no, that's not going to occur to him, doofus." She grinned and bumped her shoulder against Momoko's. "He just won't get the showing-off part, 'cause he's dumb that way. And I won't say he's lazy, not taking you out-- but I think he likes having you all to himself." She grinned. "So. Just tell him you guys can do that too, as long as you get your public face-time."

"Okay. Thanks Dinah." She gave Dinah a tight hu-... "Wait," she pulled back and frowned at her friend. "How come you're here? What's wrong? What happened to the team?"

"Nothing's wrong. Exactly." And it wasn't. Dinah sighed. "I'm just here to get my instructions for coming back. Since school starts in three days, so... I'm going back to New Gotham for the weekdays."

"Ah! It's that time already?"

"Yup." Dinah sighed, rubbing her arms. "Left it to the last second, but yeah. Can't push it back any further than this. I really hoped we'd have some kind of definite ending already, but..."

Momoko made a face. "Wars with definite endings don't usually end well."

"Hadn't thought of that," Dinah sighed. "Eh. Anyway. I'm kind of looking forward to it. I miss school. It's been seven months now, just about. Or eight. Honestly, I lost track."

Momoko nodded. "I bet Gabby will be excited to have you back. And imagine your 'what I did over the summer' essay!"

"Are you going to come back weekends?"

"Oh, yes. So I'll probably be meeting you in the Portalocity lounge next weekend. If not some weird volcano slope."

"If I get sent that route again, I am totally going to complain. They had no bathrooms!"
