Camp of the True Queen, Glacia, Saturday Evening (Fandom Time)

After doing her rounds of the camp to see if anyone needed any healing or help she could offer, Raven retired to her tent. It was a little lonely now, since she'd shared it with Dinah and Momoko before they'd left to take care of tasks elsewhere, but she was used to solitude.

She settled in with the book she was reading, the second in something called "The Raven Cycle." How could she resist a title like that?

Momoko hissed herself for a moment, Raven's touch causing a slight flare of pain before actually removing it.

Finally her mind was clear enough that she realized Raven was in pain. "Hey, stop if you need, okay? I'll totally take the lecture and go to the healers for the rest if you're in pain."

"This is the price I pay for my gifts, and you know I pay it willingly," Raven said, voice tight as she tried to keep the pain out of it. "Any discomfort will quickly pass."

No, Momoko, she wasn't letting go until she was completely healed.

"But is it worse because of the poison?" Momoko worried hard but wasn't going to struggle. She was totally going to add this to the next lecture she gave to her friend, though!

...

Maybe. Because it totally felt good to have the pain finally fully leave her body.

Raven couldn't answer immediately; it was too hard to speak. Once she'd pulled the last of Momoko's wounds from her, she drew back, bending her head and biting the inside of her cheek to hold back a whimper of pain. The pain medications made her woozy, and it took a few moments before she could expel the pain.

"The witchblood has not affected my ability to heal," she finally said when the pain passed. The poison just lingered inside her, mocking her with her inability to expel it.

"Are you sure?" Momoko was amazed at how good she felt. Had Raven snuck something in there after removing the pain? "It looked like you were having some trouble."

She reached for a hug. "Thank you, Raven. Really, really. Thank you."

Raven hugged her back. "You are welcome," she said. "And it is never a trouble to heal someone, especially a friend, I assure you."

She sat back on her heels, frowning slightly. "I am more concerned about what you said about Dinah. You are such good friends -- what has happened that you say you do not wish to work with her again?"

"Ah! No no no. Not Dinah Dinah. Old!Dinah!" She reached for her phone and found one of the images of Black Canary that she'd texted to Dinah on Wednesday. "This is her. She's the version of Dinah that's from Jaime's world. She's totally unlike our Dinah. She can barely work a smart phone, she isn't telepathic, and she's a mean fighter." VERY MEAN!

"I was paired up with her for an undercover assignment this past week."

"Oh!" Raven said, understanding and relieved. She peered at the picture. "She seems much like the Dinah of my world. She wore fishnets as well."

Raven wrinkled her nose. "I did not like her."

"There's more than one like her?" Momoko eyerolled. "She's okay, but she's really harsh, you know? Like, business-like harsh?"

Momoko shrugged. "We got along okay, but it totally felt different. Like she was putting up with me sometimes and then other times like she considered me a real partner. Totally different from what I'm used to."

"Before I came to Fandom, I sought the help of the Justice League in my world," Raven said softly. "Zatanna sensed the demon part of my nature and convinced the Justice League to throw me out. The Dinah of that world was part of them then. And when I tried to stop my father from entering that world, they were still convinced I was evil and hindered my attempts, allowing Trigon access to their world."

She tried not to feel angry or bitter about it; it was long past, after all. But the memory still stung regardless. Evil. Demon. That's what they believed she was.

Momoko stared at her at that bit of news. "Really?! That's so weird! In this world," she tapped at the picture of old!Dinah, "there's a you! And she's on Robin's team - the Titans? I saw her on TV when Jaime was missing last year!"

... Uh oh. "Is it okay that I told you that?"

Raven smiled faintly. "It is all right," she said. "I met someone some time ago who told me of the Raven of his world, that she was a hero and worked with the Teen Titans. It is good to know that. It helps ease my fears."

A little.

[heromaniac]

Momoko sagged in relief. "Oh good. I haven't met any of them yet, but Milagro says they're good and Jaime works with them sometimes. I'm not really happy with them or I would have asked if I could help, too."

[trigons_child]

"Why are you not happy with them?" Raven had to ask.

[heromaniac]

Momoko made a face. "Well, when Jaime was missing, we asked for their help. We couldn't find any trace of him anywhere and since he was a hero and their teammate we thought they'd do something and they didn't."

Admittedly they'd been busy taking down the weird villains that had been popping up all over, but Momoko was still Not Happy.

"I do not like the sound of that, either," Raven said, frowning. "I know I would not be part of a group that would ignore a companion in distress."

[heromaniac]

Momoko folded her arms and nodded hard at that. "See! That's what I say! Although if they do call I'll totally help them, but I'm totally not going to join them."

She winced a moment. "Plus, I think I dated a different world's version of their leader, so that would totally be awkward."

[trigons_child]

"I can imagine so," Raven said. "For you and for him if you were to try to explain that." Relationships were complicated enough without throwing alternate dimensions into the mix.

[heromaniac]

"Oh! I hadn't thought about him. You're right. I was just thinking of trying to take orders from him." And perhaps now she was doing a little wondering about how Jaime would feel about her joining Tim's team... If he knew Robin was Tim, that is.

Surely he did.

"But if I don't get a bad report from Old!Dinah out of this assignment, Oracle may let me have some jobs and I won't need to worry about joining a team for a while or trying to figure out how to let people know Blossom is available for hero-ing!"

[trigons_child]

"So that is your hope?" Raven said. "To be working with that world's Dinah and Barbara and protecting Gotham?" She smiled at Momoko. "I wish you luck then, but please, do not get yourself hurt like that again! But should you be, just call and I will come to help you."


[Sorry, passed out last night!]

"Oh no!" Momoko shook her head. "No no no. If I wanted that, I'd have moved to Dinah's world! No. This Oracle doesn't just work in Gotham! See that's what's awesome... she has all these assignments for all over! Like this one was waaaay in the south of Mexico! Nothing to do with Gotham at all!"

"So she can tell me when a hero is needed anywhere! And she doesn't care if my costume is pink because it's not just stuff in dark alleys and fighting crime!"

"So where will you be living?" Raven asked. She tilted her head curiously, trying to get a gauge on Momoko's emotional state. "With Jaime?"

[heromaniac]

Aaaaand Momoko turned beet red.

"N-n-no!" She stammered. Uhm. Oops. Had Raven figured something out? "Of... of course not! I have my own apartment!"

[trigons_child]

She'd meant El Paso, since she knew Jaime was from there and Momoko had mentioned Mexico, but her reaction surprised Raven. "I am sorry, I did not mean to insinuate, but...."

She refrained from digging for answers, not wanting to distress Momoko further.

"No, it's just, uhm." Momoko was still blushing. Everything with Jaime was still so confused in her mind! It made her happy, of course, but it was still... all jumbled up.

"It's just, when the assignment went wrong and I got injured... uhm. Well. Jaime got upset."
