Raven didn't have classes today, so she decided to go out for a walk in the park to enjoy the morning.
She felt the mindless rage and hunger a second before the flying fish came at her. It latched on to her shoulder, biting deep into her flesh. She stumbled to her knees with a cry of pain, trying to push the piranha off her, and at the same time drawing its aggression into herself. The piranha released her, flitting off to inspect a wary sparrow. It might have wanted to make friends.
Raven pressed her hand to her shoulder, healing the bite wound, staring at the tamed piranha and wondering what to do about it. Its aggression would likely return, so she couldn't just leave it. And then she sensed more coming at her, at least a dozen. This time she was prepared and summoned up her Soul-Self, sweeping the fish, including the first one, into the netherverse. Pity she didn't realize that devoid of their target, the piranha would soon turn on each other. Or maybe the giant lizard.
She reached out with her gifts, sensing more aggression and hunger around the island. Obviously, this attack was not isolated. The pleasant morning was over, so she turned to head back to the dorms to alert the school if word had not already reached it.
