The roof and over Fandom, Sunday night
Dec. 5th, 2010 11:37 pmRaven had been feeling unsettled all day, even more so than usual. Despite the cold, she went up to the roof to meditate, releasing her Soul-Self to soar over the island. The temperature numbed her to the pain and distracted her from her inner turmoil.
When she spotted the labyrinth below she tried to fly over it, wanting to know what it was. But she suddenly found herself on the other side of the island. Confused, she tried again, and again was shunted elsewhere. There was no flying over the structure, whatever it was. It was magically protecting herself.
She thought about trying to teleport inside but discarded the idea as foolish and instead returned to her body, the bad feeling growing worse. There couldn't be anything good about mysterious structures appearing out of nowhere on the island and not allowing anyone to fly over them. She'd have to tell some adults what she'd seen. But first she stretched out with her empathy, sensing for those closest to her heart. She could feel Jono's presence, but Karla...there was nothing.
Do not panic, do not panic, she is probably off the island on a date with Warren.... Raven fumbled with cold fingers for her phone and sent a quick text to Karla. When no answering text or call came, she struggled to clamp down on the rising panic and fear. But her emotional control was already strained, and she could feel the edges of it starting to snap. Will you stand for this, Daughter? Allow someone to take what is yours? her father whispered.
"No!" she cried, both in answer to the questions and in denial to the asker. She had to keep control and find Karla. She forced the darkness back and tightened her shields, only this time it was more to keep things in than out.
[Mostly establishy, but if you want to poke the demon on the roof, feel free. ;) ]
