Raven was standing outside Hoshi's door, knocking as politely (yet frantically) as she could. She was desperately in need of help, and only Hoshi could provide it. She hoped.

Hoshi had been hiding in her room all day, not really eager to deal with the fall-out from the weekend. But whoever was knocking didn't seem to be going away, so she eventually got up and opened the door. "Oh, hi Raven," she said. "What brings you here?"

"You must help me, Hoshi!" Raven said, near flailing. She stopped, took a breath, and tried to center herself. "Forgive me. I am sorry to disturb you. I am hoping you can assist me with something."

"What's wrong?" asked Hoshi, sensing Raven's agitation.

Oh, she was radiating frustration.

"You once showed me how I could get episodes of Rumor Gal that I had not seen," Raven said. "Please, I must get the next one. Now."

Someone didn't understand how TV worked, did she?

"You mean the ones from last season?" asked Hoshi, confused. From the way Raven was acting, she thought someone was lost or hurt or fallen down a well...

Raven was wringing her hands with distress now. Any minute now, someone might ask her if Timmy fell down the well. "No, the one after the one that was on TV tonight," she said. "I must know what happens next! I do not wish to wait until next year."

"Oh!" said Hoshi, finally understanding what had Raven so worked up. "I'm sorry, but I only have the previous seasons. I didn't get any of the current season or any future ones. I was worried about watching the entire series from start to finish and then trying not to spoil people while I was staying in this time period."

"But I cannot wait until next March," Raven said. "Did you see it tonight? That must be his mother!"

"I know, and I'll definitely be looking forward to watching the next episode," said Hoshi. "But Raven, it would just be difficult to not be able to tell people what happens for the next three months."

"It is not right that we must wait three months," Raven said, frowning. "Why do they wish to make people so frustrated by denying them resolution?"

They're called cliffhangers, Raven.

"Well, it takes time to film episodes, and they do have to give the actors a break from time to time," said Hoshi. "Besides, it's worthless to have new episodes during the holidays. Everyone will be too busy to watch."

"I would watch," Raven insisted. Then she sighed in resignation. "I really have to wait until next year?"

"I'm sure you'll find other things to keep yourself distracted," said Hoshi.

There were ways of getting around the whole wait until March, but Hoshi did not mention them. It would have involved a trip to the future. In her mind, that would be cheating.

Don't for a minute think that Raven wasn't already thinking about something like that. She had to know! It was a moral imperative!

"I am sorry for bothering you," she said. "But before I go, I must ask -- are you well?"

"Oh, I'm very well," said Hoshi, a touch of sarcasm in her voice. "And I'm definitely not pregnant with the spawn of Satan, contrary to any rumors you might have heard."

Raven drew back. "I did not think that you were," she said.

"Well, for some reason, on Saturday I broke up Hurley and Penelope's wedding by announcing that I was pregnant with Hurley's baby. And then yesterday, I told someone else that I had no idea who the father was," said Hoshi with a sigh. "Although... I have no idea why Penelope and Hurley would be getting married in the first place, so maybe it's a good thing I stopped them."

"Many of us were not ourselves this past weekend," Raven said. "But it seems to have passed, thank Azar."

"It's not the first time something like that has happened, but I think this time has to be the most humiliating," said Hoshi. "At least I didn't wake up in bed with anyone this time. How about you? Did you do anything strange this weekend?"

Raven bit her lip. "I thought I was a dominatrix and your good twin sister professed her love for me?"

"Yes, I think that definitely counts as strange," said Hoshi. "Wow. I do need to find Joan at some point. I'm not sure how we ended up as twins, but it was... well, it was an interesting experience."

"She did not look like herself, yet I knew she was Joan," Raven said. "I will never understand the nature of this island."

"You and me, both," said Hoshi. "Joan and I were actually identical twins. You'd better go before I break your brain with some of my other stories from this weekend."
