The Park, Saturday Afternoon
Oct. 3rd, 2009 06:53 pmThe dorms were a turmoil of emotions due to visiting family. Raven had gone up to the roof to meditate to make certain her shields were strong enough to keep all the nervousness and aggitation and happiness from overwhelming her.
The call of her name interrupted her attempts. She opened her eyes and looked around the roof, but did not see anyone. But when she heard her name again, she realized it was in her mind, and the summoning felt impossible to resist. She rose to her feet and teleported to the park.

The call of her name interrupted her attempts. She opened her eyes and looked around the roof, but did not see anyone. But when she heard her name again, she realized it was in her mind, and the summoning felt impossible to resist. She rose to her feet and teleported to the park.
| A boy with pale skin and almost white hair awaited her. "There you are, Raven," he said. "I knew you would hear my call." | |
| "Who are you?" Raven said. "I do not believe we have met before." | |
| "I am Sebastian," he said, drawing closer to her. "Sebastian Blood. And you are promised to me." | |
| "I am promised to no one," Raven said. "You are mistaken." | |
| He reached out and caught her hand in his, bringing it up to his lips. "But you are, my sweet Raven," he said. He rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand. "You are to be my bride. It is your destiny, yours and mine." | |
| Raven wrenched her hand away. "I have learned much of destiny and fate since I have come here," she said. "And I know it is mine to make, not yours or anyone else's." | |
| "Raven," he said smoothly. "I know who you are. I know what you are. You are the daughter of Trigon the Terrible. Those who have felt his power hate and fear you. Even the people here fear you. But I can help you." | |
| "You lie," Raven said, shaking her head. She knew his words were false -- at least those about the people in Fandom -- but that did not stop them from causing a pang of loneliness and want in her heart. "The people here are my friends. They are the ones who wish to help me. You, I do not know, but I suspect with a name like Blood, your intentions cannot be pleasant. Now leave this place. You are not welcomed here." She glanced around to see if anyone was nearby in case Sebastian tried anything hostile. | |
| "Look at me," Sebastian said sharply. He stared into her eyes as her head jerked back around to meet his gaze. "We are very much alike, Raven. We are meant to live on emotions, but where I was allowed to thrive, you were kept in the dark, locked away from the glorious world of feelings around you. But even now as you struggle to learn, you still deny yourself what you crave. I can fulfill those desires, my love. I will teach you and give you everything you need, and together we will rule the world. No one will ever deny you again, this I promise you." | |
| Raven swayed dizzily, trapped by his gaze. "No," she said, trying to tear her eyes away, but her muscles were refusing to obey. She struggled against his power, trying to shield herself. It wasn't a purely emotional attack, however, and she had | |
| "Yes," Sebastian hissed, taking her into his arms and pulling her against him. "You're mine, Raven. Don't fight it. Great is your power, and greater still is the gift I will give you. Your strength will grow as you embrace me, and life on Earth will be a blessing of Blood." | |
| "Yes," Raven sighed happily in agreement, looking up at him in adoration. "I am yours." | |
| "We will leave this place now," Sebastian said. He lifted his hand and pressed it to her cheek, tracing his thumb over her lips. "You will return with me to my church, where you will be worshiped as the goddess you are." | |
| "I must say goodbye to my friends before we go," Raven said, leaning into his hand. | |
| He thought about refusing her and making her leave the island immediately. But his control over her was new and tenuous, so he granted her request rather than risk upsetting her. "Very well," he said. "We will remain until you make your goodbyes, but I will wait no longer than that. We have much to see to." He certainly wouldn't come to regret that decision at all, would he? |
