Jono's Corner of 616, Tuesday Fandom Time

Raven had spent several days in the form of her namesake, mostly keeping out of Joni's reach (the one time she'd let her guard down had resulted in a pounce attack and feathers flying about the room) and munching on the berries and nuts Jono thoughtfully provided (though she had the strangest craving for roadkill, which she was not going to think too hard about later). But she was restless due to being confined inside. Flapping about the room just wasn't enough to really stretch her wings.

So she was going to take it out on Jono by constantly getting her beak and wings into whatever he was doing. Caw! Pay attention to her!

Raven leaned into his arms, trying to unfold herself and not fall over before she could swing her legs to the floor. She was also grateful to absorb some body warmth from him because going from feathered to naked had left her shivering a little.

"I prefer to be this way as well," she said, still pouting. "And I am cross because I came to give you comfort and I could not."

[furnaceface]

//Well,// Jono offered, taking her weight easily enough and helping her ease back down off the desk, //between you and Joni, the comfort thing was pretty well covered, either way.//

Yes. Yes, he was going to be a complete guy about this and just hold her close for a few beats longer than strictly necessary, before glancing around to see where he'd folded up her clothing.

//And there's no reason you can't comfort me now, is there?//

Oh, she was already pressed against him, arms around his waist, and not just for the body warmth. "I do not even know what day it is now," she said. Ravens didn't care to keep track of time.

"But if it has been less than a week in Fandom, then it is time for the fall break, and so I do not have to return any time soon. I would rather stay here with you longer if it would be allowed." Or even if it wasn't allowed, though a girlfriend might be harder to hide than a bird and cat.

Harder and easier, all the same. Raven probably wasn't so inclined to try to sneak out the open window, now.

//I'm pretty sure it's... Tuesday? Wednesday? Something like that there, now. You'd think I'd keep better track, when I can check and it'll be the same day there for a few at a time, here.//

He was rambling. Rambling suited him fine. She fit nicely in his arms like this.

Raven? So not complaining. She was quite happy to rest her head against his shoulder.

"Then may we start over and pretend I was not squawking at Joni and trying to eat her food all weekend?" she sighed. She tilted her head up to look at his face. "And thank you for the nuts and berries."

//We can absolutely start over, Sunshine,// Jono agreed, tracing his fingers lightly down the length of her back. //And you're welcome. I mean, I was hardly going to make you go out and fend for yourself out there, luv.//

It would have been awkward later, explaining why her breath smelled like squished raccoon or something.

She was shivering again, but this time for a different reason, as his finers trailed down her back. "Thank you," she said again. "I do not want to think what I might have done if I were overcome by instincts outside."

Ewwwww. She would have immediately run away to throw up when she'd changed back. And then angsted about eating animal flesh forever.

At least its death would have just been an accident!

Mmm. Roadkill.

//Outside here? You probably would have been mobbed by sparrows within minutes,// Jono decided, leaning forward and resting his forehead against hers, since he was here and all. //Not that Joni wasn't trying, too...//

"I antagonized her by attempting to eat her food," Raven said. And, well, by being a bird. The feathers were hard to resist. It was a wonder Warren wasn't constantly mobbed by cats in Fandom.

She slid her hands up his back, feeling a little less aware of her nakedness as she stared into his eyes. She was loathe to interrupt the moment to ask, but.... "Are you feeling any better about what happened?" she said softly.

Warren kind of was constantly mobbed by cats in Fandom. When he was near them. There weren't as many feline pets in the dorms now as there once were, it seemed. And Karla hadn't been an Arcerian kitten in a while.

//I...// Jono's shoulders slumped, just slightly. //A little... I think. It's still a bloody mess. The outcome of it is on my head. But it's less immediate.//

A few days for something like that to dull helped, a bit.

Raven pulled her arms free, but only so she could move her hands up to his face, catching it between them. "I am sorry to remind you," she said, lightly brushing her thumbs against his cheeks above his wrappings. "But I am here now to talk or distract or whatever you need."

So long as Fandom didn't decide to transform her again. Or him.

Don't go giving Fandom ideas, Raven. He'd make a very handsome snake, after all.

//All of the above? I texted my thumbs raw at Karla and Tara after it happened, but being able to talk would be... nice. Or just...// He shrugged. He wasn't sure where he was going with that, really. //Can we sit down?//

There was a cat on the bed already, but they could probably work around her.

Raven drew back to make moving to the bed easier. "Of course," she said.

She glanced down her body, and her cheeks turned pink again. "But may I have something to wear?" Because it was just a little awkward being completely naked while he was still fully dressed.

Well. If she wanted to cover up...

Jono nodded faintly, and then edged away, not that he wanted to, in order to gather up Raven's cloak from where it was folded on a seat across the room.

//Sorry,// he murmured, returning and holding it out for her. //Kind of... Right. Got a bit...//

... 'Wrapped up' was a poor phrase, considering he hadn't gone unbound since he'd left the ESU.

Raven gratefully took her cloak and draped it over her shoulders. It wasn't that she was eager to get dressed; it just felt strange to be standing there naked while he wasn't.

She moved to the bed, sitting leaning back against its head, careful to try not to disturb Joni's claimed space. "Come sit with me," she said, stretching her legs out.

Jono nodded and made his way over, laying himself down beside her and then moving to wriggle his arm around her so that he could pull her close again.

//This is more like what I had in mind when you first paid me a visit, luv.//

She pulled her cloak around them both like a blanket, snuggling against his side. "As did I," she said, tilting her head to rest it on his shoulder. "I am sorry Fandom's whimsy robbed us of that time. But I will happily make up for it now."

And then one day she'd find out a way to scold the island. Somehow.

If anyone could make it feel bad for the wicked things it did, that someone was probably Raven, true.

//You do have... until the end of your break, right? A week, their time, so...// He smiled a little around the corners of his eyes, shifting about and making himself comfortable against her. //Plenty of time to make up for it,now.//

"You have nothing else that demands your attention?" Raven said. One hand idly slid over the wrappings that covered his chest, then down along his side until it reached his hip. "Because I will happily occupy it then."

[furnaceface]

It was her hand along his side, stopping at his hip that he clung to, that little bit of actual physical touch that was so much more real than pretending he could feel her fingers through the flames. His own hand slipped up to cup over hers, and he shook his head a little.

//A few classes here and there, maybe. I'm one hell of a teacher's assistant, you know.//

That was... pretty much all he was, actually. The ESU thing had hit him hard, and while he hadn't officially resigned from active duty, Scott was at least giving him some time to mull it over while he recuperated.

"I would ask if I could sit in on one of the classes, but I would surely get in trouble for attempting to flirt with the teaching assistant," Raven teased, sliding one leg over his. "I would be a terrible distraction I fear."

[furnaceface]

//Especially if you go as you are,// Jono replied, a soft teasing note before sending a light kiss to brush over her lips. //Very distracting, that.//

Raven giggled and pressed her face against his shoulder. "I could never do that," she said. "This is only for you."

Though maybe it was a tiny bit tempting just to see his reaction. Or Paige's.

One or the both of them would explode. For very different reasons, likely.

//All for me,// Jono mused, nuzzling up against her some more while Joni made herself at home on his feet. Fine. Feet could be for kittens. //You spoil me, you know that, right?//

"I do not think I spoil you enough," Raven said. The tips of the fingers at his hip slipped under the waistband of his pants, seeking out skin to touch.

"I believe I have made you promises I have yet to keep. That will have to be rectified some day soon."
