Camp of the True Queen, Glacia, Saturday Evening (Fandom Time)

After doing her rounds of the camp to see if anyone needed any healing or help she could offer, Raven retired to her tent. It was a little lonely now, since she'd shared it with Dinah and Momoko before they'd left to take care of tasks elsewhere, but she was used to solitude.

She settled in with the book she was reading, the second in something called "The Raven Cycle." How could she resist a title like that?

"I know." Okay, hopefully Dinah couldn't catch that little surge of jealousy there. When Momoko said he'd never said it... she meant ever. Not even, what, almost two years after they'd broken up?

Which she understood now, but it had hurt for her to hear the two of them say it to each other at partings.

"It means a lot when I say it too, but I guess he never really understood that."

She did catch it, just a little. And followed it up with another hug. "Things are way, way different now. Better. Although-- I get how it feels-- sudden, maybe? It's not. I swear it's not. He loves you. I don't think he ever stopped." Dinah had to laugh a little. "Which doesn't mean he's any better at talking."

Momoko chuckled a little more. "Well, he's better at listening? I kind of yelled at him about it. A lot."

"Yaaaay!" Dinah punched the air, feeling totally vindicated. "He totally had that coming. Don't back down! Make him see the light! Way to go, Momoko!"

Dinah was nearly breaking out the pom-poms here.

Momoko smiled, embarrassed. It had been a hospital, after all. "I yelled at him because he said he'd been in love with me even when we broke up. I told him how much it had hurt and everything. You'd have been proud."

Dinah would have squeezed her again, but hey, she'd been hurt recently. So she settled for petting Momoko's hair in fondness. "Damn right I would. I'm giving Jaime a neener-neener call when I'm back in New Gotham. So... how do things stand right now?"

Momoko didn't hide her grin, but she did take a casual step closer to the exit. sooooo casual. "We decided we're such great friends that we're going to just stay BFFs forever, no matter what anyone says."

"What?" What? What? Noooooo! "YOU--" Okay, the tickle fingers were out again!

Eeeek! So much for her totally awesome plan to run away!

"Ahahahahahahah No! ahah Not hahahaha fair!"

"Meanie! Mean! Mean! You are-- so so so fair, damnit!"

Tickle tickle tickle tickle tickle!

"Aaahahhhhahahahahhahhaaa! Nooooo! It' okaaaaay ahahaha for you! ahahaha okay okay!!"

"I'm not in love with Priestly!" Dinah said, finally stopping with the tickle-fingers, then poking at Momoko's ribs. "And you've both been in love with each other forever and you guys weren't doing anything about it and now you can just be happy and I don't have to not be saying stuff, if you're not going to mess with me!"

"I didn't know, remember? I thought I was the only one who felt anything anymore." Momoko flopped to a seat, still laughing. "Is it weird that I want to date him?"

"Naaaah." Dinah beamed, and slung an arm around her shoulders. "I get it. Celebration. Flowers and time alone."

So relieved not to be the one in the middle any more, and so happy for them both--

"Well, and also because we never really did that before. And I want to." She shrugged, embarrassed. "It feels like I'm testing him, though."

"What do you mean?" Dinah pulled back a little again, then frowned. "You guys didn't, I dunno, go to dances? Or do you mean anything else?"

"We went to school dances," she agreed, shrugging again. "But our dates were all just hanging out in the dorm. We went out twice... three times if you count the day we broke up."

"I want to go to a movie together. Eat somewhere. Go shopping, maybe? But it's not a test of his feelings, and I totally like just hanging out with him..." argh.

"You want to do something different with him," Dinah said. "Something that's new. Get to know him in a new way, a boyfriendy-way. Is that kinda it?"

"That's good! Yes!" Momoko poked Dinah's shoulder. "I mean, we would kiss a lot, so it wasn't like we weren't dating, but yes! That!"

"Is that weird?"

Dinah considered it. And did not say anything about her dating experience with Jaime, after she'd accepted they weren't going to be doing more than make out. No.

"Nahhh. Why would it be weird? I mean, usually you date someone to get to know them, but. It can be just to have fun together too. Staying in and watching movies is nice, sometimes. But you like seeing new things-- why not do that with Jaime?"

Momoko's nods were emphatic. "And? I totally want to show him off."

HE WAS HERS, LADIES OF EL PASO!

"But I don't want him to think I don't trust him."

Dinah restrained the urge to laugh. "Pfft, no, that's not going to occur to him, doofus." She grinned and bumped her shoulder against Momoko's. "He just won't get the showing-off part, 'cause he's dumb that way. And I won't say he's lazy, not taking you out-- but I think he likes having you all to himself." She grinned. "So. Just tell him you guys can do that too, as long as you get your public face-time."

"Okay. Thanks Dinah." She gave Dinah a tight hu-... "Wait," she pulled back and frowned at her friend. "How come you're here? What's wrong? What happened to the team?"

"Nothing's wrong. Exactly." And it wasn't. Dinah sighed. "I'm just here to get my instructions for coming back. Since school starts in three days, so... I'm going back to New Gotham for the weekdays."

"Ah! It's that time already?"
