Camp of the True Queen, Glacia, Saturday Evening (Fandom Time)

After doing her rounds of the camp to see if anyone needed any healing or help she could offer, Raven retired to her tent. It was a little lonely now, since she'd shared it with Dinah and Momoko before they'd left to take care of tasks elsewhere, but she was used to solitude.

She settled in with the book she was reading, the second in something called "The Raven Cycle." How could she resist a title like that?

"Oh he didn't?" Dinah perked up a little. "Whyyy? Were you still hurt?" Or did he have some other reason, hmmm?

"Mask? The BB mask? What, did Khaji Da get hurt?"

Momoko shrugged. "Something about the mask but I just can't pin it down. Probably the concussion or something. I'm sure he would have said something if it was important."

"And I was totally still hurt! He made me promise to go straight to Raven for healing." She eyerolled. "He almost came along to make sure I did. And I'm supposed to call as soon as I get back to El Paso."

"Good," Dinah said decisively. "Did you give him a call that you got here okay?" Hey, she could nudge as much as she wanted there. "You guys are getting along okay with the crimefighting, hunh."

Moar eyerolling (and blushing) "I didn't have to. He made me call and get the portal right there and made sure to check that it was straight here. No layovers. I used up all my frequent portal points."

"We talked about it. I'd forgotten to tell him about Oracle so he found out the hard way. And he was so upset that I thought he was going to ask me to leave."

Dinah's smile widened, and she bounced on her toes. "But he didn't, or you'd have said that, sooooo..." Spill, kohii! Spill!

She shook her head. "No. He said it was better that I was there,than to have to hear about it over the phone. But it was scary there, for a while. He was so serious and so worried and then he said he had something to te--"

ooops.

"Something to t-- tell you? Oooo? Reeeeally?"

Massive facepalming and blushing going on. "Can we talk more about how I was seriously injured?"

"But you're all better," Dinah chirped. "And I didn't even mention the blushing until now, and you've been doing it for at least ten minutes." Bounce bounce bounce! Wait, pout. "Are you keeping something from me, Momoko?"

Yes!

"No?"

Ack! That was supposed to be a statement!

"Do i have to tickle it out of you?" Dinah crooked her fingers at Momoko. "I won't steal it from your brain, but I'll make you wish I woullld...."

"Eeek! Dinah Lance! You wouldn't dare!"

Tickle tickle tickle tickle!

Oh yes she would!

"EEEEEEEEEEEK! ahahahahahahahahaa! Okay okay! hahaha! I'll, haha tell! I'll tell! He confessed! ahahahahahahahahaa! Dinah! ahahaha!"

Dinah caught part of that over the squeals and giggles, and finally stopped, laughing herself. "Confessed? Confessed?!? Tooooo?"

Momoko wiped the tears from her face. "To, uhm," her smile wasn't just from the tickling. "To being in love with me."

"YES!" Dinah shrieked loud enough for anyone in the camp who might be napping to wake up, for anyone awake to wonder what the heck she was doing, and anyone within the next quarter mile to wonder what that sound was. "FINALLY!" Aaaand pounce-hug! "EEEEE!"

"Finally is right," Momoko accepted the hug, but wasn't nearly as excited as Dinah was.

Dinah had a lot more faith. Or, okay, a lot more hope. "That doofus. Waits 'til you're in the hospital to come clean. Jeeez. I am so glad for you guys." She stopped bouncing to ask, "You are going to be dating again now, right? You didn't change your mind about him since the last time we talked about this? Because dude, if you did..."

"Of course I haven't!" Momoko had to laugh at that suggestion. "I'm just... you know."

"Worried that it's just... because I live there, now. And, well." Her face fell a little. "He said he wanted to tell me because of how it felt thinking he'd lost me."

Dinah rubbed her face and grumbled. "Dude. That was not a... I don't know, not some kind of consolation thingy. That was Mr. Stupid Crab-head freaking out that he'd never get a chance to turtle his way back toward you now, and finally telling you how he's felt for ages."

And GOOD. YAY. 'Cause that turtling thing was taking too damn long!

"You do believe him, right?"

"I do! We talked forever about it. He actually said he loved me. That's..." Momoko rested her chin on her hand. "That's something he'd never said before. Not even on the phone as a goodbye thing."

She didn't know how to explain her muddledness on this. She was happy and terrified. How did that make sense? "And he said it's been since even when we were together. I'm just..." muddled.

"Awwwww," Dinah's voice softened, and she put an arm around Momoko. She considered as second, then sent: He never said it to me when we were together. Or breaking up. Not 'til something like a year and a half later, when we were really-truly just friends. It's got to mean a lot, for him to say it like that.

"I know." Okay, hopefully Dinah couldn't catch that little surge of jealousy there. When Momoko said he'd never said it... she meant ever. Not even, what, almost two years after they'd broken up?

Which she understood now, but it had hurt for her to hear the two of them say it to each other at partings.

"It means a lot when I say it too, but I guess he never really understood that."

She did catch it, just a little. And followed it up with another hug. "Things are way, way different now. Better. Although-- I get how it feels-- sudden, maybe? It's not. I swear it's not. He loves you. I don't think he ever stopped." Dinah had to laugh a little. "Which doesn't mean he's any better at talking."
