trigons_child: (Meditating)
Without classes Monday, Raven kept to her room to study and meditate because that's how she rolled. But where she usually found peace and tranquility was instead a nightmare of horrific images of Fandom and the mainland shattered and destroyed, the people twisted and frozen in stone, silently screaming in agony. And those dearest to her lay dead at her feet, or worse yet, kneeling in servitude to her, their eyes red and empty of any hint of a soul.

And over it all, the sound of her father's laughter.

She snapped out of her trance, shaking with fear, then got up and stumbled over to her dresser to stare at her face in the mirror. She felt a surge of relief that she only had two blue eyes and that there weren't four red ones looking back at her. She had dark circles under those eyes from a lack of restful sleep lately, but that could be easily hidden with makeup. Because she was fine. Really. Things were going well, and she'd just had a bad dream. And the lingering soreness in her right side from healing Jacob and the pain in her neck from healing Sookie was just her imagination, leftover stress from Kaeleer. It would soon pass.

Because she was fine. Really.

[ooc: door is cracked, post is open. If you're sensitive to such things, it's OK to pick up on unpleasant vibes coming from the room before Raven locked it down, la. And yes, she's being an idiot. *sighs*]

trigons_child: (Comic Scan: Sad)
Raven had been struggling to hold herself together for the past few days. It had been hard for her to deal with people leaving, Dinah and Hoshi and Joan most of all. But Didi hadn't just left, she was gone, and Jono was in so much pain. She'd pushed aside her own grief to be there for him, taking her charge from Didi very seriously, watching over him and making sure he knew he was not alone. She worried though about making him feel smothered, so she was glad take time to rest and to allow Ben or someone else to make certain Jono was all right.

Meeting her new little sibling Kon at the welcome picnic had been interesting, particularly since he was from a world similar to hers and knew of a Raven who was a hero. Through and through, he had said, and after what she had been told by someone else from her future about how she was evil, it had been a great relief.

But one more newcomer had spoiled that pleasure. Zatanna. The woman who had proclaimed her evil and made the Justice League turn its back on her. The one who led them to stop the ritual that would have barred Trigon's way into this world. Whose actions led to Arella sacrificing herself to hold Trigon back. Who said Raven had enough darkness in her to break this plane.

She'd contained her anger -- just barely -- even as some small part of her struggled to accept that this Zatanna was not the same as the one she knew. But that allowed all her grief and pain to come rushing out now, everything from Arella's loss to her soul being ravaged as Fandom had been devoured by the void to Andy and his brother who seemed to hate her to Karla to people going away to Didi and Jono to Zatanna. She'd held everything in too long, and now it all came crashing down on her, and all she could do was huddle on her bed and cry.

[ooc: Mostly establishly since she's been heading for a minibreakdown for awhile now, but if you want to deal with Emo Girl, feel free to knock. ;) And thanks to Bridgey for pointing out that first tag.]

trigons_child: (Sideways look)
Even good emotions could get to be too much, and all the intense amounts joy and bittersweet sadness had quickly gotten to be too much for Raven. She'd retreated to the safe room to block it all out better than her own shielding could. A handful of guests back from the dead would've been easily handled, but when the whole island was roiling with emotion, it was rapidly beginning to affect her.

Fortunately, the safe room had wifi, so she brought her laptop with her so she wouldn't be bored when she wasn't meditating. She totally wasn't reading any fic.

Raven was standing outside Hoshi's door, knocking as politely (yet frantically) as she could. She was desperately in need of help, and only Hoshi could provide it. She hoped.

[ooc: for the person on the other side of the door, but hey, it's a free hallway. Also. Umm. May be vague Gossip Girl spoilers in comments. SHUT UP. It's CANON.]

After work, Raven returned to her room, and was currently giving her closet a critical look. Due to being dragged on shopping trips by her friends, her wardrobe had expanded beyond the simple black dresses she had brought with her from Azarath, but now she was wondering if what she did own was pleasing to boys. If by "boys" you meant "Chuck," of course.

The door was open.

[ooc: for purposes of continuity Chuck's thread is last -- unless someone comes by specifically afterward.]
